UK Center for Blockchain Technologies organised an academic session on Automated Market Makers (AMM) within the XRP ledger as part of its seminar series.

The event was hosted by UCL and featured Vito Tumas, PhD, a senior researcher and software engineer at Ripple who offered his views on the topic, leaving the audience with a list of interesting questions to explore for the future. For those who could not attend, the recording is available to watch here

XRPL AMM promises "integrated directly at the ledger’s consensus layer and protocol level, promising higher efficiency and lower costs by taking advantage of native transaction speed. This distinguishes it from smart contract-based AMMs, potentially offering faster transactions and reduced fees. Walter J. Hernandez, Jiahua Xu, Aanchal Malhotra, Paolo Tasca, Firas Dahi and Yebo Feng from DLT Science Foundation, Ripple and UCL did some testing on this which can be read here. As it is in its early stage and as more users engage with it, it will continue to evolve
