UK CBT at the Forefront: Supporting Blockchain Dialogue in Parliament
The UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UK CBT) sponsored the Blockchain Industry Parliamentary Reception, held on 14 December 2023, at the Thames Pavilion in the Houses of Parliament. The event, organised by the British Blockchain Association (BBA) as the Secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Blockchain, was a resounding success, attracting a diverse group of participants from policymakers to innovators in the blockchain domain.
The UK CBT, co-founded by Dr. Paolo Tasca and Nikhil Vadgama, played a pivotal role as one of the sponsors of this esteemed event. The highlight of the evening was the Keynote speech by Natalie Elphicke MP, Chair of the APPG on Blockchain, who emphasised the need for the UK government to amplify its support for blockchain technology.
The reception garnered significant media attention, with coverage in mainstream outlets like CoinDesk, Business Insider, and Finance Magnates, illustrating the growing interest and potential of blockchain technology in the UK. The discussions and insights shared at the event emphasised the urgent need for government involvement and support in the blockchain sector.
