The UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UK CBT) was proud to sponsor the XRP Ledger Apex 2024 in Amsterdam on the 11th-13th of June 2024. The event brought together academics, students, developers, and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements in blockchain.

As part of our commitment to bridging academia and industry, we hosted a dedicated session on ‘Bridging Research With Entrepreneurship’, featuring Eric van Miltenburg and David Schwartz from Ripple’s executive team. This session was organised in collaboration with our partners David Bchiri (XRPL Commons) and Danielle Nelson (UBRI Connect), fostering discussions on innovation, commercialisation, and real-world blockchain applications.

The event provided a valuable platform for learning, networking, and exchanging ideas over keynote talks, panel discussions, and informal gatherings. Special thanks to Dr. Vera Radeva Hadjieva (Sciences Po), Ikhlaq Sidhu (IE Business School), Karin H. Bauer, PhD (University of California, Berkeley), Radu State (University of Luxembourg), and Annibale Panichella (Delft University of Technology) for their insights and conversations—we look forward to future collaborations, including the upcoming UBRI EMEA Summit.
